Policies
The servers at RemoteHosting.com provides
web hosting to thousands of clients. We have a responsibility to protect these clients and
to provide the best service available. The following guidelines were designed to ensure
that proper service is absolutely rendered.
Billing:
Forms of Payment:
RemoteHosting currently accepts credit cards, personal/business
checks, money orders, or International money orders in U.S. currency,
drawn from a U.S. Bank.
Billing Period:
At the customer's option, accounts are billed quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.
Payment is due on the date of each anniversary of the payment period.
Initial payments are due before initial setup of service. If you do not expect that your
initial payment will arrive within a week of sign-up please contact RemoteHosting
immediately to avoid account suspension.
Special policy for international users:
RemoteHosting prefers credit card as the payment method for international customers.
However, RemoteHosting accepts payment by international money order and other
international forms of U.S. currency. If you do not expect initial payment to arrive
within 7 days, please fax us a receipt indicating: 1) that payment has been mailed, or 2)
that the payment process has been initiated, along with an approximate ETA for your
payment.
Invoices:
Customers will be invoiced via email. Customers needing a printed invoice can print the
email.
Delinquent accounts:
Accounts that are delinquent in payment of balances due will be given 48 hours notice (via
email). If no response is received in that period, the delinquent account will be
suspended. Accounts delinquent for more than 2 weeks are subject to termination.
Cancellation:
RemoteHosting reserves the right to cancel service at any time for any reason. Should
RemoteHosting cancel service, monthly and setup fees will be prorated and refunded. Should
the customer cancel RemoteHosting service, monthly fees will be prorated and refunded,
however, setup fees are not refundable. In either case, InterNIC fees are not refundable.
Billing Policies & Prices:
RemoteHosting reserves the right to change its policies or prices at any time. Prices are
good only for the period of pre-payment. Customers will be notified of changes to prices
or billing policy prior to renewal of service agreement. Rev. 8/28/98
Usage:
Content:
All services may be used for lawful purposes only. Transmission, storage, or presentation
of any information, data or material in violation of any United States Federal, State or
City law is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted material,
material we judge to be threatening or obscene, or material protected by trade secret and
other statute. The subscriber agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims
resulting from the use of the service which damages the subscriber or any other party.
Note: Pornography, Nudity and sex-related merchandising are prohibited on all servers.
This includes sites that may infer sexual content, or link to adult content elsewhere.
This is also true for sites that promote any illegal activity or content that may be
damaging to our servers or any other server on the internet. Links to such materials are
also prohibited.
In addition any site selling or promoting Bulk email services or software is not
allowed.

We will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision.
Content & Traffic Guidelines
Remotehosting's web sites are to be used for information only. We do not allow storage of
files not linked to your web content. You may not store or distribute files of the
following file types (audio, video, or binary files).
CGI Scripts
Each account comes with its own cgi-bin. You are free to use any CGI scripts you wish,
however we reserve the right to disable any CGI script that effects normal server
operation. Scripts must only be accessed from your own site.
IRC
We currently do not allow IRC or IRC bots to be operated on our servers.
Commercial Advertising - Email:
Our servers may not be the source, intermediary, or destination address involved in the
transmission of spam, flames, or mail bombs. Your domain may not be referenced as
originator, intermediary, or reply-to address in any of the above. Advertising sites on
other servers which in turn contain links to a domain on our servers is prohibited. We
consider spam any mass unsolicited message in the mediums of Newsgroups and Email. If you
are found to have spammed, then we will immediately, without warning, disable your domain.
In addition, we will impose a $100 penalty for each spam policy violation. We reserve the
right to refuse or cancel service to known spammers. Lastly, we reserve the right to
determine what violates this policy.
As such, any violation will result in immediate deactivation of services without
refund.
Server Abuse:
Any attempts to undermine or cause harm to a server is strictly prohibited.
Refusal of Service:
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service at our sole discretion.
Misuse:
If any terms or conditions are failed to be followed it will result in grounds for
immediate account deactivation.
Traffic:
10 Mega Bytes / Day
